Managers vs Leaders continued…

business_piechart Lately I have been reflecting a bit on the various soft skills of Managers and Leaders, mainly as a follow-up to my last post on the differences between management and leadership. I came to read various papers about behavioural models in general, and emotional intelligence in particular. has a complete section on this subject which I found highly interesting. Applying this to the differences between managers and leaders, I wondered if we could identify some EI soft skills that would be more specific to the ones or the others.

So based on the generic EQ competence framework produced by Daniel Goleman and CREI (Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations), I’ve produced this little nifty questionnaire which I would be grateful if you could spend 5’ filling it in. If I can get enough data (n>=20 as my statistics teacher would recommend), then I could lately publish the results that would hopefully show some remarkable findings.
